Waterline Church believes children are a gift from God, and we are very excited to offer the opportunity for our families to celebrate together in a child dedication.

Child dedication is a public commitment you make before God, your church, and your family. The dedication experience provides you, the parents, an opportunity to express your desire to spiritually lead and nurture your child so your child will develop a desire to love God and love others. Christian parents who dedicate a child are simply making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, prayerfully, until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to follow God.

The scriptural root of a child dedication is found in 1 Samuel 1:27-28, where a godly woman named Hannah prayed year after year for God to give her a child. He answered her prayer and she gave birth to a son, whom she named Samuel. When Samuel was born, Hannah prayed these words: “For this boy I prayed, and the Lord has given me my petition which I asked of Him. So I have also dedicated him to the Lord; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the Lord.”

We have an opportunity for your children to be dedication on February 18th. If you are interested, please fill out this form asap and we be in touch with you.

Toddlers and Preschool

201801_MonthlyScreen_StandardThe goal for this month is to learn that Jesus is the one to watch, because JESUS CAN DO ANYTHING!You’re going to have a lot of little eyes on you this month watching and learning. We have an awesome opportunity to direct those eyes to the One worthy of watching – the One who truly can do anything – the One who wants to be their friend forever. And hey, who wouldn’t want a friend who can do anything?

Elementary

Growing in faith is not something that happens by simply cramming information 1801_Letter_Commitmentabout the Bible into a child’s brain. The knowledge in their head means nothing if we don’t help kids experience what that knowledge can do in their heart. To experience faith, we want kids to practice their faith and that takes commitment.

1802_Standard_KindnessGod was kind to us even when we didn’t deserve it. Even when we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. Because of God’s great love for us, we can be kind to everyone.Jesus personified kindness in the way He lived and interacted with the people He met. But, as we read the Gospels, we find that Jesus didn’t just model kindness. He commanded it. By treating others the way we want to be treated, we live out the way Jesus taught us to live.

Join our Sub List

sunday marketHey Parents,

We have an amazing team that consistently shows up every other week to pour into the lives of each child, parent and family at Waterline Church. We are so thankful for them and all they do. Since they are on a consistent every other week rotation it is hard to pull from our team if someone is sick or has an emergency and has to call off at the last minute.

I am compiling a sub list of names and contact info so that in a case where a volunteer is sick or an emergency comes up they can call some names to see if they could sub in for an experience. There is ALWAYS another team member with you and they will lead the environment and you will assist them. We have a lot of parents who serve in their children’s class and they will tell you how powerful it is for you to be able to watch them engage in God’s story and talk about how it applies to their lives.

If you are able to be part of this sub call list please fill out this form:

I want to be a sub

I will send you a background check and then add your name to our list.

Hope you have a great day

It takes 50 people EVERY month!

We had 68 Kidslast sunday! Our Family Ministry is growing! We are so excited about all the new families that have been joining our Waterline Community! We have an amazing team of people who serve every other Sunday with your kids and students. It takes 26 people every Sunday to make sure all our Family Ministry environments are fun, safe and relational! That means it takes over 50 adults a month to make our Sunday programming the safe, fun and effective experience that it is! We are currently in need of at least 8 more adults to join our team for the fall and winter seasons.

We know how powerful it is for them to be able to grow in their faith with solid friendships and safe adults to talk to. We are looking for more team members to join our team to help every kid know they can trust God no matter what, how to make wise choices and to treat others the way they want to be treated. There is something so powerful about your children being able to see you serve others and even serve in their class with them. Our team serves one experience every other week. We want our volunteers to attend one and serve one so we make sure that you are leading yourself while serving others.

If you are interested in learning more about serving in Family Ministry please fill out this form: https://mywaterline.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=6

JOin our sub list

We are also looking to create a sub list so if our regular team members can’t serve on their scheduled Sunday and can’t switch weeks with someone else, they could contact a sub that would step up to serve. If you are interested in being put on this list, please fill out this form: https://mywaterline.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=163

Night of Worship as a Family!

20708472_1963160967264883_4952924847296597520_nWe are so excited for our first Night of Worship this Sunday at 5pm.This time is designed to be a relaxed atmosphere to experience God in ways different than a typical Sunday Morning. We will have special programing for children 6 weeks to 4 years old, while kindergarten through 12th grade will participate in the Night Of Worship. We are excited for you to be able to worship as a family. There is something so powerful about your children seeing you worship and we have designed this experience with your children in mind.
This experience will be an hour long. It will be full of worship music, short testimonies, prayer and communion. We will be doing communion around a big table together so everyone will have the opportunity to participate, even your children.

What is Communion?

Communion is a means of grace. The night before Jesus was crucified He had a last supper with His disciples. As they sat around the dinner table that night, Jesus broke the bread and passed it out. He told them to eat the bread because just like the bread was broken, so also His body was going to be broken too. As a symbol of your love and commitment, Jesus told the disciples to eat the bread and remember the sacrifice that was made for their lives. Then Jesus took the cup of wine and passed it around. He told them to drink the cup of wine because it represented the blood that was shed for our sins. He said drink and remember that the sacrifice of Jesus washes away all of our sin! Today all believers all over the world still practice this sacrament to remind themselves of Jesus sacrifice for our sins, as well as a time to repent of our sins to Jesus and seek His forgiveness.

References: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Short Video Explanation:

Are my children old enough to take communion?

As far as we are concerned, every child is welcomed at the table, but the choice is ultimately up to you as the parents. They might not understand the fullness of what communion means, but we use this as a teaching time.We teach them that it isn’t snack time but a serious and important time where we get to experience God. We can tell them “Jesus wants you to have this so you remember how much God loves you.”  That’s all they need to know.  Sometimes that’s all any of us need to know.

We encourage you to have a conversation with your children before Sunday.

This is a great opportunity to spiritually lead your children and also see where they are in their spiritual journey. Children are near and dear to our hearts at Waterline and we want them to know they are part of our family. There is no kiddie table, no special elements and no room for them to feel left out. We know that these children aren’t our future but they are the Church just like all of us!

Screen Shot 2017-04-25 at 1.38.04 PMINFANTS/TODDLERS AND PRESCHOOL: It’s time to “Come to the Castle” and hear stories from the King.As we travel through the stories of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Hagar, Gideon, and Daniel, your preschoolers will learn that . God is always with me. God hears me and gives me what I need.God teaches me the way to go.God protects me.
17May_Standard_DeterminationELEMENTARY:  Determination is a response of the character of God. Throughout scripture, we can discover that God has been faithful to His people. He rescued them from slavery in Egypt. He sent Jesus to rescue us from our sin. He remained faithful to the early church as they spread the message of Jesus throughout the world. When we see how God gave His people what they needed to continue following Him, we can respond with determination believing that God will give us what we need to finish what we start

Instagram_Limitless_XP3MSNXTGEN: Many of us feel like our lives, our stories, and our futures are limited in one way or another—like who we are and who we can become have limits. This was especially true for one of the earliest and most famous guys in the Bible, Moses. But God had other plans. And through Moses’ story we’ll discover that when we allow God to direct our story, the possibilities are limitless.

JUNE

Screen Shot 2017-04-25 at 1.24.26 PMINFANTS/TODDLERS AND PRESCHOOL: Throughout the summer, our preschoolers will be introduced to people in the Bible who did amazing things while they were still kids. They rocked because they did what God wanted them to do, and our preschoolers can do that too. And, we’ve included a challenge for you to send home for families (check out the first page)

ELEMENTARY:Jesus is the ultimate example of love! Because we are17Jun_Standard_Creativity created in God’s image, we have the capacity to love. Every time we choose to treat others the way we want to be treated, we show others a glimpse into the perfect love God has for each and every one of us.

NXTGEN: When Jesus talked about Himself, He would make statements like, “I am the Good Shepherd” and, “I am the bread of life.” As strange as they sound, these statements give us a better picture of who Jesus is.In this series, we’ll discover that the way Jesus described Himself, gives us a clue into who we are as well.

9E7E82E5-071B-422E-B8EA-AAA0ED0BAC75 2On February 12th Waterline celebrated its 6th birthday with having everyone no matter how old or young to invited their friends to this special event. The kids were so excited to invite their friends and we even got them special invites! Every week they listed off who they would love to invite and it was a great time to teach them about the importance of inviting their friends to church! We had 15 total new kids and 40 adults on Friend Day! The truth is everyday is FRIEND DAY at Waterline! So how can you continue to encourage your children to invite their friends?

  1. Be an example: your kids are watching you. If you are inviting your friends, they will want to too. They will see the importance because it is important to you!
  2. Be willing to go the distance: whether you need to reach out to the kid’s parents or fill a van full of kids to bring on Sunday morning. Show your kids you will do what it takes to make sure their friend knows who Jesus is.
  3. Pray with your kids about their friends. Talk to them about who they would like to bring and pray with them about how they could invite them and for them to experience Jesus in their life

Lifegroup for High School Students! Students 9th-12th Grade meet Tuesday nights at 7pm in the Waterline Office. They spend time playing fun games, making new friends and growing in their spiritual journey.

What your babies- 8th grade will be learning these next two months!

March

Infants/Toddlers/Preschool: This month, we’re working to build into kids a love for 1703_FB-header_01-768x285others. Imagine with me, for a moment, a world filled with men and women who love others the way Jesus loves us. That’s what we want for our preschoolers.

17Mar_Standard_ThemeElementary: Since we are created in God’s image, we have the ability to offer forgiveness when people in our lives hurt us. God’s love in us makes it possible for us to forgive others and work towards fixing our own relationships that break down from time to time. Jesus made it possible for us to have God’s forgiveness.

NXTGEN: As we do, we just might find that unnamedGod’s inviting us to stop avoiding and escaping hard times, and instead, face our troubles head-on. And maybe we’ll see that through our struggles, God builds our character, provides us with comfort, and calls us to share that comfort with others.

April

1704_theme_art-01Infants/Toddlers/Preschool: We get to tell them the true story of how much God loves them and how He gave them His only Son. We get to tell them that Jesus is alive, and He wants to be their friend forever. We have one of the best jobs in the world! We get to share with preschoolers that Jesus is the best! What an honor and a privilege.

Elementary: Yet so often, we act like we are 17Apr_Standard_ThemeGod. We allow our pride to take over and forget that any of our strengths or accomplishments would not exist without God. The only proper response in light of God’s greatness is to respond with humility in our interactions with the people around us. Jesus is the ultimate example of humility.
